AFSCME Take Back America/Wisconsin Project Organizer Green Bay/NE WI Region
Objective: Increase AFSCME's power in the legislative and political arena. Mobilize AFSCME membership across the state through a variety of means, including trainings, electoral participation, grassroots legislative activities, and more.Take Back America/Wisconsin Project Organizers are responsible for working with all locals in their assigned region. Staff will engage locals and activists around 4 main areas:1) Grassroots Events and Activities, 2) Communications, 3) PEOPLE (AFSCME's PAC), and 4) Political/Electoral Campaigns. TBA Staff will identify new AFSCME leaders, train volunteers and activists, and attend conventions and other AFSCME meetings on a regular basis. TBA staff will work with locals to develop political action and PEOPLE plans, which can include engagement in local, state, and national campaigns, as well as raising AFSCME PAC funds for the PEOPLE program. TBA staff will also work with AFSCME locals and other coalition groups on grassroots activities, such as communications programs and other programs as assigned. Experience working with organized labor and/or on political campaigns a plus.Requirements: Vehicle, willingness to work extended hours and weekends.The TBA position is based in Green Bay Wisconsin, but will require extensive travel within Wisconsin.
